The
newly built and restored Van Kampen Gardens at Hampton Court Herefordshire
incorporate all the best of English garden design through the ages
and have been featured in The Rotal Horticultural Society's magazine
The Garden.

The Flower
Garden is based around a formal layout with ornamental water
steps and canals linked by informal, cottege style planting. The
Kitchen Garden is a modern kitchen garden producing organically
grown fruit, vegetables, and cut flowers. The Herbaceous Borders
follow a blue and yellow colour theme and extend either side of
a magnificent wisteria arch which was planted in the nineteenth
century.

The Maze
contains over 1000 yew trees and leads to a central viewing tower
and underground tunnel leading to the hermit's grotto and The
Sunken Garden, an informal, woodland garden with a large sunken
pool and waterfall surrounded by natural style plantings. The
Dutch Garden reflects the grand formal gardens of the past and
is based around a central water canal and formal planting schemes.

The River
Walk is a 2/3-mile circular walk around the castle grounds.
The Orangery Restaurant serves light lunches, tea and cakes,
all made with organic ingredients. Finally, The New Garden Shop
sells plants from the garden, local crafts, and gifts.
